Overview:
- New gold discovery (Spring 2008) demonstrates the potential for a near surface, bulk tonnage deposit.
- A follow-up drill program was completed in September to continue testing along strike and at depth both the near surface bulk tonnage potential and determine if there is potential for higher-grade mineralization at depth.
- Gold mineralization is associated with green carbonates (Fuchsitic Ultramafics). Substantial gold production from this type of geological environment occurs in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt (ex. Kerr Addison Mine).
- Several coincident IP geophysical anomalies and broad gold trench values exist: Trench 2: 1.17 g/t gold over 25 metres; Trench 3: 1.28 g/t gold over 17 metres; Trench 5: 0.32 g/t gold over 50 metres. The main IP anomaly (associated with Trench 2) is ~150 metres wide by a strike length of ~400 metres.
- In addition, there are a series of parallel IP anomalies to the east of the main IP anomaly that have not yet been evaluated.
Exploration 2008:
- Spring Drill highlights include: (GH-025) 43.75 metres of 1.02 g/t gold, including 1.67 g/t gold over 16 metres and 2.25 g/t gold over 10 metres. (GH-023) returned 28.28 metres of 0.73 g/t gold and 1.17 g/t gold over 12.93 metres.
- Follow-up drilling along strike and at depth was completed in early September 2008. The target area has now been tested over 200 metres of strike to a vertical depth of 400 metres.
Assays are pending.
